When we get up in the morning and listen to the radio or turn on the television, we are confronted with the same old news: violence, crime, wars, and disaster. I can't remember a single day without a report of something terrible happening somewhere in the world. Even now it's clear that one's life isn't safe. No former generation has had to experience as much bad news as we do in this day and age; this constant awareness of fear and tension should make any sensitive and compassionate person question the progress of our world. Yet nobody does. Nobody will. They sit in their homes or kneel at churches; wishing, hoping, even praying that one day our world will be at peace again. Nobody wants to get up and act out. Nobody wants to even begin to try because the only thought that would skitter through their mind would be the fact that they're too afraid to stand up to every and anything that would challenge them. I would say that I will; that I would try and challenge. That I would try to take a stand. But I'd only be lying.

I'm a coward. Just like everyone else.

So, yeah. I'm sitting here on my computer, tickity tap tap typing away. And I'm happy.
